The project
A louvered pergola over the pool deck.
Patio Style supplied and installed a black aluminum louvered pergola over a poolside patio in the Turnbull Crossings community in New Smyrna Beach. The freestanding structure sits on the pool deck and shades the space beside the water, adding covered outdoor living without closing the area in.
The roof is built from adjustable louvers finished in a warm wood tone. Open them for full sun over the pool, angle them to break the afternoon heat, or close them to throw shade across the seating below. It is a single piece of structure that changes with the day.
The setting
Built for a pool-builder partner.
This was a trade project completed for a pool-builder partner rather than a direct homeowner. The pergola went in alongside the pool work, so the covered area reads as part of the finished poolside living space instead of an add-on bolted on afterward.
What we installed
Sun and shade, on demand.
We set the freestanding aluminum pergola on the pool deck and squared it to the water and the surrounding patio. The adjustable louvered roof gives full control over sun and shade above the seating, and the black frame with its wood-tone louvers ties the structure into the poolside space.
