Modern Outdoor Kitchen in Baldwin Park, Orlando, FL
The project
A modern lanai kitchen for a Baldwin Park home.
This is a beautiful home in Baldwin Park. The quiet, serene space called for something with a modern twist to match the design and style of the house, with plenty of function for a family of four. We started by creating a raised backsplash behind the grill for weather protection, using CMU masonry and stucco. We also enclosed part of the opening near the doorway so there would be ample space and protection for getting in and out of the door. Stuccoed to match the existing texture of the home, the exterior is an exact match and looks like it was part of the original construction.
Inside, we set and installed the NatureKast cabinetry and built a support wall for the island. We used a 1.25 inch 3cm marble selected by the customer to create custom mitered 3 inch countertops and mitered edges with waterfalls on both ends. The grill cabinet kept the standard 1.25 inch countertop due to the radius we installed around the large Big Green Egg and the shape of the egg cabinet. For gas equipment, the customer chose a Twin Eagles 36 inch grill with rotisserie, a Twin Eagles power burner with heavy duty grate, and a True refrigerator and ice machine for their cold storage.
What they wanted
A functional kitchen that kept the lanai light and open.
The homeowner had an original outdoor kitchen installed by the builder that was inadequate and not functional. They wanted a fully functional kitchen and a countertop seating area, while still allowing plenty of natural ventilation and light throughout the lanai.
What we built
A custom outdoor kitchen in NatureKast cabinetry and paneling.
We built a custom outdoor kitchen using NatureKast cabinetry and paneling, with the island wrapped in mitered marble that waterfalls down both ends. The NatureKast resin and PVC cabinets stand up to the Florida weather, and the raised backsplash and partial enclosure keep the cooking line protected without closing in the room.
The finished kitchen carries a Twin Eagles grill with rotisserie, a Twin Eagles power burner, a large Big Green Egg set into its own radiused cabinet, a True refrigerator, an ice maker, and a sink. Nine cabinets in all, sized for a family of four, with the countertop seating area the homeowner asked for and the open, light-filled lanai they wanted to keep.

How Patio Style designs and builds
In house, from the first sketch to the last wall cap.
Patio Style is family-owned in Longwood and has been outfitting Central Florida backyards since 1973. The same team that draws the layout builds the structure, sets the equipment, and details the finish. On this Baldwin Park project, that meant matching the new stucco to the home's existing texture so the lanai kitchen reads like part of the original construction.
Because we design and build with our own crew, the plan that leaves the showroom is the plan that gets installed. Nothing gets handed off and lost in translation.
